Dr Mahmood Razavi, MD |

Dr. Razavi received his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his Radiology residency training at UCLA where he served as the Chief Resident. He has had two subspecialty fellowship trainings; first in Medical Imaging at UCLA where his research concentrated on instrumentation and clinical evaluation of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and second in Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology at Stanford University Hospital.
Dr. Razavi then joined the faculty of Interventional Radiology at UCLA and was the director of Special Procedures at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. In 1996, he went back to Stanford where he is now on the faculty in the Section of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology. To date, he has authored or co-authored over 200 scientific publications, abstracts, and book chapters and has been the recipient of many honors and awards from various professional medical societies. His scientific editorial experience includes serving as the Editor of Techniques In Vascular & Interventional Radiology, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Endovascular Specialists, and Reviewer for several other journals.
He serves on various committees of national organizations such as the Food & Drug Administration/SIR Device Forum, Stent-graft sub-committee, and Fibroid embolization task force of SIR. His scientific work has been featured in over 150 national & international radio, television, and press news articles and programs.
Dr. Razavi is on the Board of Directors and the Scientific Advisory Boards of several device and biotechnology companies and is a consultant to many medical device manufacturers. |

Dr Riccardo Lencioni, MD, |
Univ of Pisa, Italy
Professor Lencioni is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Pisa in Italy and the Director of the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Intervention at Pisa University Hospital. He is Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, and Chairman of the Programme Committee of the European Conference on Interventional Oncology. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the World Conference on Interventional Oncology, and was a founder of the International Liver Cancer Association, in which he also acts as a member of the Governing Board. Professor Lencioni has been a Visiting Professor at 20 different European, American and Asian universities.
Professor Lencioni earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Pisa, where he is board certified in Radiology and Gastroenterology. Having completed two fellowships in Interventional Radiology, he has served as a faculty member in various residency programs, including Radiology, Surgery and Gastroenterology.
Professor Lencioni has edited seven books and has authored 135 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and 40 book chapters in textbooks of Radiology, Gastroenterology and Surgery. He has been an invited or honorary lecturer for more than 400 international meetings and conferences. |

Dr. Yuman Fong, MD |

Widely-recognized surgeon and researcher, Dr. Fong is Chief of Gastric and Mixed Tumor Service and Murray F. Brennan Chair in Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. He is also Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College, where in 1984 he received his MD. He has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications, reviews, textbooks, editorials and books chapters. He is a highly sought-after lecturer and holds several committee and editorial board memberships with national scientific societies and journals. Among other honors, Dr. Fong is the recipient of the 1996 Boyer Research Award from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the 1999 James IV Surgical Traveler Award from the James IV Association of Surgeons, and the 2002 Shipley Award from the Southern Surgical Association. He joined the CAIB in early 2006. |

Dr. Goldberg is the Genzyme Professor for Biomaterials, Materials Science and Engineering, Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and is a member of the faculty of the Biomedical Engineering Dept. and the Chemistry Dept. He has made a number of research contributions in the fields of Biomedical Materials, Implants, Devices, Wound Healing, CNS Repair, and Localized Cancer Chemotherapy. His research group has conducted pioneering studies in the specific fields (1) surface modified ocular implants, (2) tissue-protective polymer coatings to prevent tissue damage during surgery, (3) nano/meso/microspheres for localized drug delivery and intratumoral cancer chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and (4) nanostructured biopolymer scaffolds and gels for nerve tissue regeneration and spinal cord repair. A number of patented medical technologies have emerged from his work and have been licensed by UF for development and clinical use. Dr. Goldberg�s achievements has been the recipient of the 1998 Biomaterials Society Clemson Award for Applied Research, the Genzyme Corp. Biomaterials Professorship in MSE in 1999, and the 1995 Brown University Distinguished Alumnus Award. He was elected a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in in 2001 and a Fellow of the International Society for Biomaterials in 2008. He is the senior author of more than 415 peer reviewed publications, papers, book chapters, edited books, and invited lectures. |
